Profile:

Born in Australia, Ryan watched his idols (Dave Mirra, Ryan Nyquist, and Mat Hoffman) rule the sport of BMX Freestyle from afar. Wanting to compete against the best in the world, Guettler packed his bags and moved to the US in May of 2003 to chase his dreams of competing in the X Games. In 2004 Ryan opened the eyes of the BMX community by finishing on the podium at the X Games 10 taking the bronze medal behind two of the biggest names in freestyle. Guettler had arrived!

With new found respect and confidence, Ryan was eager to prove that 2004 was no fluke. So he charged into the 2005 season riding with style and a list of tricks capable of winning any event he entered. Ryan became a regular on the podium, and for the second straight year won a medal at the X Games. With the newly created NBC Dew Tour, Ryan wanted to use it as a platform to show he could ride consistently against the best in a series. And that he did by not winning one Dew Tour title but sweeping both events he entered, dirt jump and park.

With the newly earned hard ware, Ryan will be the man to beat in both park and dirt jump events in the future.
