Xbox 360 Get Up Tour Features Top Action Sports Athletes Riding in Support of the Campaign For Tobacco Free Kids

Boston is the first stop on the Xbox 360 Get Up Tour - September 14

LOS ANGELES (September 14, 2009) - Leading action sports event producer, ASA Entertainment (ASA), and Xbox 360® are excited to announce that they have partnered for a second time to support the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids through an interactive action sports circuit that will visit high schools across the country to inform students about the dangers of smoking. Starting today, September 14, the Xbox 360 Get Up Tour (Tour) will set out on its 10-city trek, first stopping in Boston, Mass and continuing each weekday with a new event through November 20.

Featuring top skateboarding, BMX and inline skating pros performing thrilling tricks on a mobile half-pipe during on-campus assemblies, the Tour will present an important anti-tobacco cause message through announcements, trivia questions, brochures and attention-grabbing performances. It will educate students about the dangers of tobacco use, the risks associated with second-hand smoke and ways to combat the pressure to start smoking. The Tour will invite students to Get Up, Get Smart, and Get the Word Out Today about the risks of smoking.

From September 14 through November 20, the Xbox 360 Get Up Tour will visit the following major cities from coast-to-coast:
    Sept. 14 - 19 Boston, Mass.
    Sept. 21 - 25 New York, New York
    Sept. 28 - Oct. 2 Philadelphia, Penn.
    Oct. 5 - Oct. 9 Raleigh, North Carolina
    Oct. 12 - Oct 16 Orlando, Fla.
    Oct. 20 - Oct. 23 Oklahoma City, Okla.
    Oct. 26 - Oct. 30 Albuquerque, New Mexico
    Nov. 2 - Nov. 6 Sacramento, Calif.
    Nov. 9 - Nov. 13 San Jose, Calif.
    Nov. 16 - Nov. 20 Los Angeles, Calif.

The 2009 fall Tour rounds out the 10-year anniversary of ASA's commitment to the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids and has directly impacted more than 1,000,000 students. "Tobacco prevention is an issue near-and-dear to everyone at ASA," said Rick Bratman, CEO of ASA Entertainment. "We are grateful to all the schools, sponsors, staff and athletes who have supported the Tour for the past 10 years and helped us spread this important message."

During it's first stop in Boston, Mass., the Tour will visit Newton South High School on Monday, September 14; Everett High School on Tuesday; Boston Latin Academy/Madison Park High School on Wednesday, Brookline High School on Thursday and East Boston High School on Friday.

X Games and Action Sports World Championships athletes including Koji Kraft (Chicago, Illinois), Austin Coleman (Los Angeles, CA), Marc Englehart (Lansdale, Pennsylvania), Phil Hajal (Gainesville, FL), and Trevor Meyer (Little Rock, AR), will perform at each school in Boston, providing high-flying, energy-filled performances. After each show, students can obtain pictures and autographs and talk to the athletes about staying tobacco-free. The event offers a unique opportunity for peer-to-peer interaction between the athletes and students.

Additionally, students at each stop along the Tour will have the opportunity to play a few of the unreleased games designed for the Xbox 360® console before the general public has a chance to buy them. Consoles displaying DJ Hero™, Tony Hawk®: RIDE™ and Forza Motorsport 3 will be available for trial during the Tour's visit to each school. DJ Hero and Forza Motorsports 3 are scheduled for release on October 27th; Tony Hawk: RIDE will be available beginning November 17th.

In January, the National Sports Forum recognized the Tour by honoring it as one of the top three marketing ideas of 2008 in their SAMMY Awards (Sales, Advertising, Marketing, Management idea of the Year) competition.
