Colin always liked riding as a little kid, his friends all started riding so he got into it as well. He got his first bike at the age of 12 but by the end of high school all his friends had quit except for him. His father Lex is a marine engineer and would always work on Colin's bike. He would weld his bike when it would crack and make changes to some of his parts. Colin's mom on the other hand wasn't too thrilled about his riding in the beginning but he says ,she is all about it now. In 2001, Colin became a household name by pushing the limits on the Dave Mirra BMX Super Park Tour on ESPN. Since then, he has consistently finished in the top five in most competitions culminating with a win at the first pro event of this year.
