The "Godfather" of Freestyle Motocross, Mike Metzger has recently added to his success by earning himself a place in the Guinness Book of World Records. On May 4, 2006 he broke the record for the longest motorcycle backflip, jumping 125 feet over the fountains at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas. Mike has been an icon for FMX due to his creativity and daring nature. He has been riding motorcycles for 27 years, but he began his focus on Freestyle in the late '90s. Metzger revolutionized the sport in 2002 by successfully landing the first ramp to dirt backflip on a full-sized bike. He resides in Wildomar, CA with his wife and two children and continues to strive to bring more energy and new tricks to the Motocross arena.
