Profile:

Skateboard phenon, Ryan Sheckler, stepped onto an old board belonging to his father when just eighteen months of age. He took the board with him everywhere he went for the next three years. In 1995 he came across his first quater pipe at a buddy's house in his native San Clemente. The rest they say is history.

Within a few years, Sheckler joined the CASL (California Amateur Skateboarding League) and proceeded to win one state championship after another. He picked up eyewear sponsor Arnette, the same company that boasted Tony Hawk on its' roster. Sheckler had met Tony years earlier when the skating legend made an appearance at his birthday party. The team manager recognized the connection and offered Sheckler Tony Hawk's vert ramp. After some minor alterations including a four foot knockdown at the demand of the city, Sheckler had a mini ramp set up in his own back yard.
In 2003, at the encouragement of World Industries, Sheckler turned pro at thirteen years of age. He immediately put an end to any uncertainty of his ability with wins at the Gravity Games, the Slam City Jam, The Vans Triple Crown, and the X games. In 2004, Sheckler took home the title of National Street Champion at the World of Skateboarding. In 2005, he successfully defended the title at the World Cup. In 2005 and 2006 he went on to win the Dew Tour Cup.
During his time between skate sessions, Sheckler spends time enjoying his other passions. He is an avid fan of motocross, as well as anything car related
